There was a TON of rain today where I live and the streets flooded and everything really badly. I was driving my dad's FJ and it went through a couple places over 2 feet deep no problem. i knew the intake comes from the wheel wells and was wondering if the Tacoma's intake worked the same?

Edit: does the intake point backwards on the inside of the fender in the Taco also?

    This video helps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlYSfKycYpI

    Thanks

That's what I'm thinking just wondering if anyone has taken off the inside of the wheelwell and seen the same kind of design.

I'm sure the LT guys know, they'd see it when they put fiberglass fenders on.

Two feet of water might have dunked the differentials. It would depend how high the differential breather is.

On my 4 cylinder the air intake seems at about the same height as the fj.

ill have to look at it. Toyota claims the FJ can cross 33" (if i remember correctly) of water so i would imagine they would have a decent diff breather height

I believe the rear diff breather on the FJ is in the same location as the Tacoma breather. If you live in FL during hurricane season, relocating that rear breather should be one of your first mods.
