Color matched bumper

I didnt really know where to place this thread but heres my question. I have recently bought a black 2011 tacoma and it has the chrome bumper, i wanted the color matched bumper so i was wondering if the chrome could be painted at a shop or if i could trade or buy a color matched bumper. Thanks

 

I can't answer your question but if you want a cheap quick fix you could spray it with plastic dip.

 

The body shop told me that paint won't stick to the chrome. I put a black bumper on my truck and had it painted. I sold my chrome bumper.

 

Chrome can be painted, but you have to sand it first to get rid of the smooth surface, and also use a self-etching primer. Buying a non-chrome bumper and paint it will of course be easier, but more expensive.

 

My bumper was done by a body shop, perfect match. I believe it was the base black color beforehand, i bought it used.
