    Drive easy for the first thousand or so, avoid any one speed in paticular (i.e. no cruise control). I personally changed the oil after 1000 miles, then every 5000 thereafter (although that is unnessiary). If I could do it over, I would completely flush the transmission fluid after the first 5000 miles (automotive studies have shown that 90% of transmission fluid contamination happens within the first 5000 miles of the transmissions life).

    My wife ended up driving it the day after I bought it, so much for the break-in process. At least it didn't come back covered in dents.

    It's not new, it's not Mexico
    This is what I did. All the owners that didn't follow these procedures did it WRONG. Also, I didn't throw away perfectly good oil & a perfectly good oil filter at the end of the first 1000 miles either.
