Did a little mild off roading. Got stuck in the mud and a friend yanked me out. Now have a really really bad shaking above 45mph truck is just about undrivable. Any suggestions as to what this might be? Thanks in advance.

 what do you mean when you say yanked? If it was really hard and fast it could have bent something

Hopefully its just mud caked onto your wheels. Mine did that before right after mudding. Drove it for a bit and the mud got knocked off and all was good. Hopefully that and not bent suspension

If it's not mud caked in the wheels, you could have thrown a wheel weight in the process of trying to get yourself unstuck.

I doubt a wheel weight missing would make it practically undriveable due to the vibration. I drove around for a few weeks with unweighted wheels, and there was a noticeable vibration, but nothing to write home about.

You might have bent the frame or loosened the bolts on the bed mount

As others have said, mud packed in your wheels was my first thought. Easy to do if you were buried down pretty deep.

the first time I ever went mudding, (not this truck) I had to get pulled out, sideways! it drove home feeling like it was on square tires. looking the truck over for whatever broke showed me all the mud caked in the inside of the wheels. easy fix!

seriously though, I have never wheeled in wet silt riverbeds again. sand is cool, but silt equals super stuck. not fun watching that poor little truck being winched at a 90 degree angle. poor thing

Try taking wheels off and cleaning mud from inside them/behind spokes. You'd be surprised how much that crap can weigh. If you were really that deep, there's gonna be mud there without a doubt.

Good News!!!! Presure washed the inside of the wheels. Loads of dried mud came out, probably 20 lbs each wheel. Took the truck on highway near 100MPH and no shake/shimmy. thanks for all the advise. At the very least the underside of my truck is now spotless. thanks again for all your help.

Just wondering do you think a wheel balance and alignment are in order?

There are too many variables for us to give you a "yes" or "no" answer. We weren't with you when you did the mudding, as well to know how the truck drove after. We can only guess since that we have to try to assume through your writing in your posts. If I were you, just to be safe, I would get an alignment and balance done just in case.

If the shake is gone the balance is probably good.....alignment might be good, just in case.......this has happened to me a bunch of times.:D
