It only took me 5 years to figure this one out, am I the only one,,,
I tried putting the E brake on while idling, and the dtrl's stayed on, 5 years ago.
But, if I have the E brake on, then start it up the dtrl's remain off, a month ago.
It's an automatic, I hardly ever use the e brake when parking, now I will set the brake when I use the command start, and not light up the truck.
    Cheers,

    Not uncommon.
A lot of vehicles won't light up the headlights until the brake is released (but don't shut off when applied).

yeah, i figured this out by accident when i had a manual. obviously its more noticeable in manual as you commonly park with the e-brake. someone who has only had an auto wouldn't necessarily know this.

I am glad they switched them on the 2013s. It takes a little getting use to the 3 positions when you turn on and off the headlights. Mine stay off.
