I've done a lot of review reading lately on them and found basically you love em or hate em. I went through an older thread here and it looked like they were pretty well liked. I hit a jeep site and the majority liked them as well. I'm sure personal preference has lots to do with it. The stuff that was confusing was half thought that they had great traction on wet roads and the other half thought that they were horrible. I know that there was a recall in 09 of 41k tires but same thing with firestone wilderness before that.

I've heard that some can't get the tire to balance and others say it's the smoothest ride.

I ordered a set for my 1st gen taco with a $80 rebate from GY waiting for them to come in. Right now I have been running Kelly Safari Trex which came with the truck. If there is any feedback it would be welcomed.

90% percent Hwy driver 10% Off rd and snow.

    Thanks CP

we use the prograde ones at my work for all of our trucks and they do not wear well for tire to be used 90% on street.

    shitty rain traction as well.

in my 5 years at caltrans ive seen trucks go through as many as 2 sets a year

I drove 18hrs one way to Oregon yrs ago during a major storm..... Snow coming down mountains and chunks landing in the freeway. Lots of spun out vehicles, tons of rain half the trip...... Never chained up even tho 2wd.
Never slipped or hydroed..... We had rigs coming up sisskiyou pass in stop and go traffic spinning their tires going up the grade.

They are a decent tire....... But I've read many times that after a certain percentage of tread wear, the compound is less sure footed in the rain.

Firestone destination a/t were great tires and come in load range c

Now I'm on authorities and can't give long term opinions cuz they are pretty fresh rubber, so far so good, but a little loud for an a/t..... But its to be expected and I knew it was coming because of the large voids between the blocks...... Also a load range c, and the price was right.

Silent armors didn't fling too many rocks, but the destinations did...... And these authorities throw boulders.

The Silent Armor's weren't bad for all around traction. Terrible in soft sand. Running the Wrangler Authorities now and love them. You can read my review here.

I have had mine on my truck for 8,000 miles now and have had no problems and show little to no wear. I have driven them in rain and snow with no slipping. As far as off road I have had them to my deer and duck lease in mud and rocks and have had no problems. So far the have been a good tire.

I owned a set of non-pro grade 245/75/R16 GYSAs on my 2006 4WD DC for about 5 yrs.
When I traded the truck, they had approx. 50k on them.
They wore well, had no trouble balancing. Did a lot of miles in many different weather & road conditions without a problem.
I liked them with the exception of real icy/hardpack snow while towing a trailer in the mountains. They are snowflake rated.

Due to the driveway of our camp & the icy conditions, I opted to go with a studded tire in the winter but...
if I hadn't had to tow to the camp probably would have run them year round.

Now on my tundra, I had a horrible experience with GYSAs again a non-pro grade.
Could not get them to balance & the tire shop/GY was not helpful.
    Tire size was 275/65/R18.

I have posted my experience here in other threads with photos.

Never had them on my Tacoma but I had them on my 2002 Silverado Z71 (285/75-16). They were great on dry pavement, wet, snow pack, and deep snow. I rarely used them in mud and the few times I did was when they were pretty worn, and even then, they did decent. They wore evenly and not any faster than BFG KO AT's. Granted this was on a much different vehicle but I liked them.

sadly, I've only put Husky Liners in it thus far - tend to blow all my cash on my bikes and guitars.
I have almost 60k miles on mine and they've served me very well. Still some life in them, not quite at the indicators yet but the majority of the mileage has been highway. I like them quite a bit, they're pretty quiet compared to the few other AT's I've had on other trucks, and they beat the sh*t out of the factory Dunlop AT20's by far.
I've had them in the snow the past 2 winters and they performed great, mine have had very little offroad use, but what little they did see it wasn't a problem whatsoever. I'll probably go with these again, or maybe try out the Nitto Grapplers

Well there on the taco for two days now haven't much of a chance to test them out in other conditions besides the highway.

So far the road noise is very mellow compared to the Kelly Safari tire I was running before. I was surprised and happy. I have went down the interstate at 75 no vibration in the steering wheel either.

No way enough miles or conditions to do a review but tonight in my area flash flooding is predicted so hopefully ill have some more info in wet conditions.

Well on the wet traction they passed the test today. Rain was ridiculous on side streets and interstate lots of flooding which provided a good testing ground. The tires performed well with no issues. The rainfall here today was 1.87 inches of rain within a few hours.

Another update. Went fishing at 11 mile reservoir Sunday taking highway 9 trying to avoid any flash flooding on hwy 24. Well it started raining and lightning so we decided to head back home. There is a stretch of dirt road around 15-20 miles. Lots of rain and some hail on the trip home. The rain started turning the road into soup. I would give a rating of average, had some slippage in a few spots but nothing major. Performed acceptable going up hill in the soup.
