    So I have a 2012 AC 6spd, at ~35750.

Anyway, my passenger window developed a clunk/click when rolling up and down, about 3 months ago. I realized it was an issue but, hadn't gotten around to dealing with it (mostly because the only dealer I feel I can trust is 80 miles away), all the while the miles until 36k are dwindling.

So here I am pulling up to the house roll up the windows and hear a "tink", and my passenger window pushes up cocked forward.

If I can get it to the dealer in Bozeman it'll be close. I fear I better drive it straight to the dealer just to get the damned window checked out under warranty. I just hope they don't try to suck more cash out of my pocket for some shit I'm already paying for as part of my vehicle purchase.

So has anyone had a similar window issue? What's your take on the warranty covering the issue? The door is easily disassembled but window mechanisms don't excite me. Nor does paying someone to fix it.

    ----

I live in Butte, MT. I hate Toyota of Butte.

I hate them because of some very well documented nonsense regarding my factory service. Basically not being done but, still documented as such. My tires grew in 10k miles, and they didn't rotate/balance them yet wanted 32$ for hosing the rims off, at my 15k service. They charged me for water and other nonsense. I payed went home and read my owners manual again and became livid. With a bit of a struggle I got my money back the next day but, ended the conversation with a friendly - pound sand you'll never touch my truck again.

IIRC you may have some number of miles/days past the warranty to present the vehicle to be repaired, that is if you ~report~ the problem during the warranty period. YMMV, check your warranty book or call the service dept.

Most dealers have the authority to grant warranty repair work within a few hundred miles out of warranty but its considered a courtesy repair. They are under no obligation to cover it though once you hit 36,001. If you can get it I'm before 36,000, I'd strongly recommend you try. Even calling and talking isn't any guarantee. Someone might say "yeah of course just bring it in well take care of it" I wouldnt trust any verbal promise. Window parts aren't cheap! I had to replace just the guide channel and check arm and that was over $150 in parts alone. Its easy to fix but if its your regulator then your looking at a pretty costly repair. Just get it in and fixed before 36000. No need to risk it
