Yeah I originally wanted to have a third car and keep the Lexus because they last forever. I'm gonna have a hard time parting with it. If I get the truck now, I either have to buckle down and work the overtime or part with the Lexus. It's tough. The truck payment is about 16 hrs overtime a month. Take home. Not a lot but still a commitment.

What's the BB on the lexy? Enough to trade, pay the loan off? If not then you should probably wait till March, besides, I'm sure the wife-unit would probably rather see more of you and less of a truck right?

Yeah the wife is just done with me buying cars. I can make ridiculous amounts of money in overtime, but I'm burnt out. At the same time I'm really tired of asking friends to borrow a truck every time I need one. It's a pile of drama. Like I said it will come down to the offer. If its not much of an offer ill wait until March. If its an offer I can't refuse ill work the the overtime. So off road package or sport?

We are talking light off roading. Sounds like sport then.

Don't buy something when you have to rely on OT. If you get the tacoma sell the lexus.

If you really want both rearrange your budget so you are still spending as much before the Tacoma. trust me, a budget is killer.

Lastly, don't get the Tacoma just because you want one. Find reasons where you would really need one to put yourself in more debt. If you make as much money as you say you do you should not be in anymore debt.

I would wait and pay off both vehicles before getting more debt.

True. A year and a half goes by fast. I'll at least wait til march when I pay off the Lexus. It also gives me time to work OT for a down payment.

Get the Tacoma and trade in the Lexus. Plus you can get a katzkin leather interior in the Tacoma and it will feel like a lexus then

*Giving money away on an interest free loan to the feds while paying interest on his car loans.... you could use that 670+ dollars a month to finance your Tacoma if you did your personal finances correctly.

16 hours? That must be a very high payment!

Never live off OT! All my toys are paid by my USCG retirement, not a penny comes from OT or job incomes.

What are you going to do if OT is cut completely?

I would work the over time and save as much of the extra $ you can from now to March, then when you get you tax return pay off the car with the less owed. Trad on the truck you want,( I have the sport model and I love it!) once you trade you still have all the $ you saved in over time from now to March, then use that $ to do mods on your new truck. That's only close to 6 months to wait. That's just me tho. Just my 2 cents.
