sorry for the loss but your buddy should have known the breed's intolerance for heat. And than to play with the dog and than leaving him ? The dog was obviously left very hot - did he have cold water to drink etc ? I'm sorry for the loss but your friend should have know ALOT better.

So sorry for the loss of his pet. It's hard losing them because they are part of the family. He was a gorgeous dog (even though I'm not a pit fan).

FYI alot of vets have crematory services for pets, so you don't have to have them "disposed" of.

the best bet is that since it was a young dog he just didnt know his limits. He might have played more with the other dogs since he was "hyped" up when you guys left and just collapsed from the heat w/out any warning.

The people kitty corner behind me have 2 males (dad and son) They are teaching the dad to jump up, grab a tree branch and hang on while the owner swings the branch in circles...

I'm seriously thinking about keeping my gun in my pocket at all times.....

There are several houses in the neighborhood that have pits and they are not friendly at all. All of them will climb out of 6 foot wooden fence, fenced yards. My girls and I go nowhere without dog spray.

sucks when pits have as*hole owners:( oh and pepper spray will do nothing to a dog if its pissed off enough. i know, im a meter reader and have heard horror stories. matter of fact, i had to spray a rottweiler that almost got out of his house, it stopped him for a minute, but he brushed it off and kept slamming into the gate:help:

Do you use pepper spray or the "dog" spray? I use the dog spray and enough will get them off. (I've probably sprayed 8 - 10 loose dogs in my neighborhood) Not that they all meant harm, but Ollie is terrified of dogs running up to her after she was attached one night. If I don't know the dog, I WILL NOT take any chances.

I had to spray the daddy Pit one day when he and an in heat female wanted to come into my yard to eat my dogs... It took ALOT of spray to get them to back off.

According to his mom, he's a big baby. I'm seriously waiting for one of them to kill or seriously injure a kid. The younger dog dug under the fence to my neighbors house and he seems friendly enough, but the way they're treated... they don't listen - don't come when they are called. The human kids grab hunks of skin and pick him up to get him home.

    Sorry for the :threadjacked: Neon

sorry to hear that man. I just lost my dog that I had had for 13 years earlier this year. I was at a restaurant in the parking lot, about to go in when I got the call, I just sat in the parking lot and felt completely lost.
