I once had a 2008 Tacoma and put a 2.5" spacer on the front and it worked fine , now I have a 2003 4x4 and tried to put a 2.5" spacer on and .....I loosened the 2 inside bolts to the lower control arm , took the 1 bolt out at the outer part of the lower control arm , disconnected the sway bar and bolts to the strut, dropped the strut, bolted on the 2.5" spacer and went to install and the Spindle and Ball Joint goes right down into the side of the spring on the strut? How is everyone else putting a 2.5" leveling kit on? These worked fine on my 08 , I don't understand where I'm going wrong??

I emailed the seller today and I'm returning the 2.5" spacers for a full refund. If I purchase the Bilstein 5100 Struts and set them high ( to Level) will this same thing happen again?? I don't want to put in the Cash for 5100's if I can't lift the front of my truck. I just put some Kelly Safari TSR 265/75/16's on it and they're pretty big and rub at full turn and dips , I really need the extra lift, Thanks

Sorry....put the truck back together, didn't think it would work and I needed to use it. But the Ball Joint was pressing pretty hard into the spring. If I rotate it, does the Ball Joit still ride between the spring? If so , I'm not so sure about using the spacer. I need the 2-3" with my new tires and seldom go off road , just to fishing holes.
