Tacomas do have good badges - blacked out or body color does look nice. I considered this route before taking them all off.

There are a lot of nice areas here. Traffic is a challenge. You would want to stay away from south Seattle to Tacoma, also the immediate Everett area. These areas have economic challenges and all that comes with that. The I-405 corridor has very nice communities but is a traffic nightmare. Everyone here hates 405 - it can be tough at times. Communities along the I-90 corridor are very nice; and that is a quick route into Seattle. Very rare to have problems. North of Seattle is nice. Also anywhere around Lake Washington. Communities north of Seattle have different commuting options also. Its hard to give advise. You should find some online neighborhood tools that look at crime rates, demographics, etc. And probably take a visit out here and scope out the area!

Thanks Rich. There are some nice options for the beds of our trucks. Just depends what you will do with it.

I'm from Smithtown. Left LI in 1987. I only have one uncle left there - everyone else moved. Growing up I remember people saying that "It's a nice place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live here". LOLs. I have family in Western NY - very nice up there.

EDIT: I just saw where you live!? Are the Rochester winters driving you nuts? Is that why you want to leave? My relatives live in the Warsaw/Perry area. My grandfather lives on Silver Lake.

uncleART, your truck is perfect! So you have Bilstein 5100s,Toytec coil overs, Dakar leafs, Light Racing UCAs,SwayBar relocate? is your lift from just the coil overs or from both CO's and bilys? Also why did you do swaybar relocate?

Thanks Justin. The lift is from the springs.
I did a ToyTec kit, so the COs were adjustable. The Billys themselves don't directly provide lift.

Coil-Overs refer to the complete assembly - spring mounted on the strut. Factory COs don't have an adjustable spring perch. The ones like mine or the other 5100s, that people get that have a snap ring with moveable spring perch - preload the coil spring to create lift (in addition to the taller spring). Both kinds are adjustable - mine is infinite and the others have like 3 settings.

The sway bar relocate was part of the kit. It corrects the geometry for the bar after the lift - i.e. prevents binding, corrects the connection angles, and helps extend travel. Although wheel travel is still limited. A lot of guys just remove it.

Sick, thanks! Yeah, planning on coming out within a month or two. Been researching as much as possible on areas to live. I'd like to be north if possible. I'd like to spend a good week driving around checking areas when we get out there. Do they have Tacoma's for rental trucks out there?!

Like I say, it's a little ways away and not 100% but I am excited about the idea of it and would love to see it happen.

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
The politics and taxes are the problem. The state is beautiful. We have everything from flat land in the west to mountains in the east. Warsaw and Perry are very nice areas. I'm sure you've been to Letchworth if you've visited for any length of time.
The weather can be challenging at times but we don't get tornadoes (it has happened but rare) and the snow fall isn't like it used to be. I've never had hail damage anything but that has happened too just so infrequently we all forget about it. Some areas get some major flooding but not up here in Rochester.
I've never lived anywhere else and hate to think about leaving but I do at times. I won't leave anyway. In fact I just bought a house in Webster, a suburb of Rochester about 20 minutes North of where I am now. So as much as I bitch about NY I still love it here. Just wish these moronic politicians would leave. The state government is doing a great job of dividing the state into us and them. Very sad.

Furthest West I've been is Denver, Co. down to Cimarron, New Mexico and Las Vegas Nevada for work about 25 years ago. Washington looks beautiful.

Awesome picture you post posted for teneighty.

Yeah, I agree. It is very beautiful. I spend a lot of time in the Adirondacks and its amazing! I just wish we got more snow!!! Taxes are crazy and I won't get started on the way this State is run... The NW Coast has always been a favorite of mine and if I have an opportunity I will def take it. Biggest thing is leaving family for me...
Sorry to throw you're build page off uncleArt! Maybe you'll have a new Tacoma neighbor!

    Hello again,
Have a couple of MORE questions for ya uncleART.
Thinking of doing the ultimate toytec lift with the LR UCA's. As of now I have enough saved up to get the kit. No rims and tires at this time.

The question is will the stock rims and tires 265/65r17 fit with the lift or any lift without having to add the spacers that you added.

In the future I am going to stay with 17 inch rims but maybe just a 8" wide rim and the tires no more that an inch taller and an inch wider.

If I decide to use the stock rims. I would still only go up an inch taller and an inch wider for the tires. Just wondering if those set up's would work without spacers and without any trimming.

Again thank you for your input.

Yeah - Hello. No problem with stock wheels and tires. That's what I did for a month and a half while I was waiting for my spacers. The spacers are only necessary when you go to a wider tire with a deeper back space on the wheel (like the 5.5" stock). So you can do your lift and wait on tires. The taller the lift, the smaller the tires will look though. Something to consider as you plan things out.

Hi Ian. I did not move the front rail - I purchased an additional one and installed it. So there is no problem with the lid hitting the cab.

I used a DeeZee tie down kit. Part# DZ97904. Just one bolt per side. They clamp into the bed rail.

The model # for the box is: TBSD-63A-LP-BLK
