Ok guys need any and all experience on this matter. I was reading where guys where having problems with a clunking sound after they installed the OME lift in the Old Man Emu: Question,Answers & Picture, Thread . My question is how many out there have had this issue and where you running the OME shock with the OME coils ? Also has any one running the OME coils with 5001's had this issue and last but not least has any one found a solution to the problem ? They never really did say in that thread if any one found the issue. Getting ready to pull the trigger on some 5001's with 883's and don't really wont to deal with that issue. Any input and personal experience welcome.

I think you mean 5100s. I ran 885s with 5100s and didn't have a clunk, weird? I ran 885s with OME shocks, and the sway bar hit the coil, that was the clunk.. and I've had that clunk two or three times so I ditched the sway bar. I have a pop noise now, I think it's LCA related, I fixed it once but it came back and I am trying to diagnose it.

If you didn't install sway bar relocation blocks, the sway bar will hit the OME shock's spring perch. OZ-T has photos.

Relocation blocks are just $30 at Toytec, PN SBR-129.

Opps yeah 5100's. ;) I am thinking it's the ome shocks. If you look at the ome and 5100's , the 5100's have a longer shaft on the bottom between the shock body and where it mounts which puts the coil up higher so that it don't hit.

OME 886x and Nitrochargers, no sway bar.

    No clucking sound here.

Though I do get a little thunk/clunk sound over speed bumps/humps, I just need more weight up front. I don't have a winch in my ARB or skids on.

Ok so from what I am hearing is the ones running the ome shocks are the one's that are having the problem with the thump. I am only going up at the most 1.5in with 5100's / 883's. Thanks for all the reply's.

I've got 885's with the OME "Sport" shocks, Dakars with AAL and I don't have a cluck, clunck or even a clanck.
