Hey guys, I'm new to trucks. I've had my 2012 Tacoma TRD Sport since this February. I promised my wife that I wouldn't mod the truck....but foolish for her to believe me.

I've modded anything and everything with wheels since 4 years old (I'm now 38). I still have some of my first Hot Wheels with swapped wheels, 'etched in custom silver color' of which my son now plays with them.

In anycase, there's a local selling his used suspension off his '06 Tacoma that he had to sell. He parted as much as he could prior to selling it the dealership.

He's selling what he claims to have 35,000 miles on this Walker Evans nitrogen shock setup, alongside a full leaf pack, and UCA's.

I tried searching on this site for the last couple of days to get more info on the WE setup, but it doesn't look like too many of you are running it.

He's asking $600 for all of it....I figure if it costs me another $200 to get them rebuilt, I'll be about $800 in for a full, mid-travel suspension not including realignment or longer rear brake lines (probably will do braided ss lines at all four corners).

My truck is used about 80 to 90% of street driving, and other uses for taking my son camping to some harder to reach locations.

Here's the descript on the advert:

Check for excessive play in the uniball on the uca, otherwise those look good. I have those Walker Evans fronts, even sent them in for a rebuilt, was like 150 including shipping (from Iowa) and I love them, very adjustable and look nice to boot. Don't know anything about the rears, but plan to have them rebuilt as well. That leaf pack looks like the All Pro, cant go wrong as long as the leafs are in good shape. I dont see any ubolts, you will need longer ones. Looks like a sweet deal to me.

PS, I wouldn't use that eibach coil in that coilover, call All Pro and get a replacement.

Ok...those Eibach springs are 600# springs for replacement of a broken spring.

For those that can tell, should I have any concern with the rust on the leaf packs? I was told it's mainly surface rust. What can I do to clean it up prior to install? Anything I should do to prevent further rusting (here in Chicago area, salt is liberally used during the winter....rust is a real problem for vehicles here).

If you don't mind a project, I would take those leaf packs apart, wire brush and powder coat them. I would be willing to be that would make them last twice as long as they would if you didn't.

I wouldn't use those Eibach springs, but that's just me I guess.

OP: That is a pretty good deal, but just know we haven't sold that style of front coilover and 1" uniball UCAs in a number of years. We can certainly help you get them to WE for a complete re-build including installing the new coils, as well as get you any other new parts you might need like the spring bushings, brake lines, uniballs, etc. For a similar set-up new you'd be looking at around $2k.

What is your take on those Eibach coils being installed on those coilovers?
