Hello all, I was at the dealership I bought my new 2013 DCSB from getting a bed mat today so I priced a scooped hood while I was there. They told me they couldn't order just a hood, they said there was several parts they had to order to have the scooped hood like a Tacoma Sport. He pecked on the keyboard for a couple minutes and printed out a list of 16 parts that they would have to order and the total after tax was $721.74......for those of you that have purchased a scooped hood from the dealership does this sound right ?

Here is a copy of the price quote

Gross!!! That seems crazy expensive. Sometimes you'll run into some locals that want to trade goods... But finding a '12-'13 the same color as yours would be difficult. Good luck man... By the way, where in Tennessee are you located?

FYI... A lot of good Tennessee guys in the Tennessee BS thread, you should check it out...

He's ripping you off I think. I might be mistaken but he's charging you for the bulge and the wind guide on the hood shouldn't be there. They might just put that there to differentiate between the 2 hood styles but that seems way more complicated and leaves room for people to fudge the numbers instead of just saying scooped hood/non scooped hood.

He's also charging you for 2 bolts that are already on your truck.

$721 for a non functioning scoop seems like a waste of money anyways. Hopefully that's already painted or you should prepare to get bent over.

A lot of guys that are willing to trade will either just do a 1 for 1 swap, or would charge under $100 for the difference.

Check aftermarket. I got one that fits as well as OEM and looks identical for under $200. Every weld, beam, dimension and bolt hole is identical as is the gauge of the steel.

So that would be in the ball park for a whole new hood?

Front skid plate. Hood protector, and wade in-channel guards. K&N CAI. Weathertech floormats, and door scuff guards. Tri-fold soft tonneau cover.
I looked into it once.....there is a company called "Certifit", and I think it was for 109-139, but that doesn't include the paint, or the mesh inserts for the scoop. Like others have said, with patience, you can find other members that would be willing to trade.
