First, I did search on the forum and do not see this particular question addressed. I need to change the transmission fluid in my 2006 V-6 quad-cab Pre-Runner. Having had success over the tears with Amsoil products, I went to the Amsoil site and printed out the spec sheet for my truck (pretty handy if you haven't done it - I recommend). It tell me that if my automatic transmission is an A340E, I use a different Amsoil fluid than if my transmission is a A750E.

I go back to the window sticker (yep - I saved it), and it tells me my transmission is a 5 speed ECT-I automatic transmission. No mention is made of these other designations.

The truck does have the towing package and the TRD off-road package, if that potentially makes a difference.

So, what transmission do I have? How can I tell? Your input is much appreciated.

You have the A750E. I would not put amsoil trans fluid in it. Toyota's fluid is designed for Toyota transmissions

Yeah, make sure the bottle says Toyota on it. Don't get Honda or Ford transmission fluid.
