I'm sure I'm not the first to ask this, and I'll likely get a lot of
"use the search function" or "read the sticky" advice, but I did
and for whatever reason I'm still not getting it.

So, to save myself some time and frustration I'll just put it out there -

Can someone please tell me what is the biggest metric tire size I can run with no rub and no trimming on a TRD Sport (stock 17" rims) with a 3" lift?

I see a lot of people recommending 32" but it's breaking that down to the appropriate
metric tire size that's stumping me. I'd like to run 33's and I think that would be something like 285/70/17 but I'm not 100% sure.

If you are running the same setup, or same size rim and the same size lift, please tell me your specs and provide pics if possible.

In the meantime, I'll keep looking around.

    Thanks in advance,

Ok, not to be rude or crass here.. have you considered looking at a metric to inch tire conversion app or website? if not, start here.

    http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/Metric_To_Inch_Tires.html

Granted this wont answer your specific question, but its not really an easy answer.. each tire, although they may have the same diameter, may have different features that will cause them to rub. take for example the comparison of a basic street tire to a mud or aggressive tread tire.. these more aggressive tread tires have lugs the protrude on the edges of the tire further than a regular street tire, which will affect their cross section (edge to edge width) which may cause the tire to rub..

Finally, in a search on Toytec's website FAQs, they indicate that the tallest tire they recommend (with stock wheels) is a 265/75/R16. So you need to take that into account s well. (are you getting a rim with a different offset?) if not I'd start with Toytec's recommended size if going with stock rims.

Linkee: A better way to approach your question is to decide which tire you want to buy and ask the question specific to that tire. you *might* get a better result in your responses. (and yes, please use search for your specific tire... you'd be surprised how many hits you may get.).

Best of luck on your tire endeavors...

I have 265/70/17 on my stock 17" sport wheels. When I am at full flex and at full turn my tires are pretty close to rubbing on the plastic. I have a 3" kit as well.

FORGOT.....I also have 1.25" spidertrax on so that helps more

There is a sticky in the Wheels & Tires section where you posted this thread :p
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/wheels-tires/67550-largest-tacoma-tire-sizes-stock-suspension.html

Note the max tire size for 3" lift (if you get a proper lift and not just top plate spacers) is the same as stock, since the suspension in full jounce is at the same position.
