Let me start by saying I have spent forever searching and could not find an answer, so if I missed a previous talk about this, sorry. My friend has a set of TRD suspension off his 2010 extended cab that he is giving me and I had a few questions about what kind of difference I will see and if it will work. First off since his truck was an extended cab and mine is a regular will it still work? Second, will I see any kid of height increase, especially from the rear leaf swap? Thanks in advance for any help.

    1. It will work
    2. It should sit level since you have the 4 banger and it will ride better
Since you are getting it for free I would go for it

Awesome, that is what I was hoping to hear. Should have it done in the next week or so, I will post pics and feedback then. Thanks for the response.

Is it the TRD sport or TRD off-road? The Sport has the same springs as the rest of the trucks, just slightly better shocks. I don't think you'll see much difference if it's coming off a TRD Sport. The off-road uses progressive front springs, so it'll ride a little different. Does your truck have 3 leafs or 4 and what are you getting in return? if it's the 3-leaf pack, it may actually be a downgrade.

I don't doubt the rider will be better but damn its a lot of work and money (if you pay to have it installed) all for a stock suspension. Maybe combine a mild lift in there during the swap?

I am not sure if it is the sport or off road, I will need to look into that. Thanks for all the info. Mine has three leafs in the rear the same and what he is selling me. My truck came with strut spacers and it has a little bro lean going on. I was hoping the rear would sit a little higher with the new springs. I am doing all the work myself so cost is not a huge deal. I guess if I get a little better ride with the billsteins, it will be worth it to me. I will do research on mid lift kits. Thanks again.

So I found out the suspension was in fact from a TRD Offroad truck and I decided to pull the trigger and give it a try. I installed the front tonight and the ride height is the same but the difference from the regular 4X4 suspension is amazing. The truck soaks up bumps instead of sharing them with me and even turning into my steeply angled drive way feels better. I can't wait to get the rear springs and shocks installed. For anyone who reads this thread who might want to do the same thing it took me a couple of hours, with hand tools, and the only snag I ran into was a sway bar link that spun and was hard to get tightened. I will post pics and an update when I get the rear finished.
