Softtopper with load bearing rack (ladder rack)

I am busy setting up my 2013 Tacoma Sport Double Cab Long Bed. I plan to get a Softtopper to cover my bed. I chose the softtopper because I wan to retract the cover to haul loads of gravel and other things. But I also want to be able to haul my 15' kayak and longboard surfboards. The softtopper is not strong enough.

I have seen people put ladder racks on with hard top canopys. This is cool and great, but I don't wan to take off the hard canopy every time I want to load gravel.

So does anyone with a softtopper think adding a ladder rack like this work?

well, I found someone who has the setup I am looking for, but don't know what kind of rack it is. Anyone know what rack was put on this truck over the soft topper?
