I'm a big .22 LR fan, I guess because they're so much fun and cheap to shoot. I started looking for one when everything went crazy a few months ago, this was a gun that was hard to find and when you did find one, the price was crazy. I dropped by my LGS the other day and this one was setting on the rack so I had to walk out with it. I was looking for a 10/22 Target Tactical but this one will do. It's not a factory target rifle but the guy who traded it in put good parts on it so it's probably just as good and he maybe shot 20 or 30 rounds through it, so it's like new. I stuck my AR scope on it but I'm going to buy a Vortex Crossfire 4x12x40 to go on it. Should make a nice 400 yard plinker.

400 yards??... If you sight it in @ 100yd, that's nearly a 20 foot drop out at 400.

I shoot my 10/22 at 400 yards all the time. I use a 14 x 14 piece of steel for a target. Wind and inconsistent ammo affect things a lot, but I find that I can hit the target more times than not. 300 yards is pretty easy.

You'd need at least a 30MOA base just to get on the paper.
Over 100yds with 22lr is hoping for too much.

No joke, I can pop 100 yard targets all day long with my Ruger 22/45, 5.5" bull barrel. No scope, and no rest. When I say target, I'm talking a plastic pop bottle, not some 12"x12" steel plate. Apparently you didn't watch the videos above or you would see that 300-400 yards is not too much to ask of a .22LR. At 100 yards with a good .22 rifle, no reason to get outside a penny.

You should absolutely be a match shooter.
You would finish in the top 5 at the CMP.

This is INDOORS(ask anyone that shoots much 22lr what a 2mph wind will do at 100yds) with a 25x scope and a match rifle, $.50/rd ammo....http://www.accuratereloading.com/2009/bl100.html
    Please post your match results.

Dang, maybe I do. I don't know, maybe it's a Tennessee thing. I'll make sure to post up my results the next time I go shoot. I have not shot the 10/22 yet so I may take my TC Classic just so I know I can get a good group. Ok, maybe a penny was a tad bit of an exaggeration but hey, it sounded good. Just put a new scope on the 10/22 today so I'm looking forward to trying it out and see how close the bore sight got it in. I've got some Remington Club Extra that I'm wanting to try out and see what kind of results I get. I still have some things to do to the 10/22 but I think I'm going to really like it. The 18" KSA barrel is great but I'm wanting a Volquartsen trigger to drop in. I think the 10/22 is one of the best guns ever built, especially for the money.

Here are some groups I shot 50yds outdoors, with irons, using my Ancshutz 164 Sporter.
