There is an enzymatic cleaner you can get that will kill most smells in carpet and upholstery. Check with an RV dealer.

Also make sure to dry the truck out. Doors all open and sunshine will do wonders as well.

My detailer used some fogger machine that pretty much wiped out all odor from my wife's SUV. He turned on the a/c in recirculate and sprayed the fogger in the car which circulated all the chemical inside the vents and carpets. Left the car closed up for about 5 hours and Voila! all odor was gone and has not returned. He said it was some oil based cleaner so it binds with odors.

Little trick I used with my old truck and will likely do with the new one- dryer sheets/fabric softener sheets. Take some Bounce dryer sheets and stuff them under the dash, under the seats, in the glove... works pretty good, especially when the sun cooks the car a bit. Better like the smell of the dryer sheets though, it will be in your car forever.

So I've sprayed out the air ducts well and I don't think the air coming through the vents smells anymore. I have noticed the passenger side carpet/area smells bad. I'm pretty positive its mildew in the evaporator core. I'm looking into the BG products. I did notice when I first bought the truck that that side under the floor mat was wet but it's not getting wet anymore but on the same token my A/C is never releasing condensation. I've blown air through it with our big air lines at our shop. I can hear the air running through the system and no water came out of the drain after so I didn't think it was plugged. I've pushed 16" of braided wire up too in case it was heavier blockage and again nothing. I'm going to use the BG product to kill the mildew in the evaporator core if there is any in there. I'm still mad about the smell and the fact that my A/C isn't releasing condensation and nothing in my cab is damp...

Well at least you've gotten rid of some of the smell coming from the vents.. Did you use something similar to the video I posted?

Another option if you wanted to and could swing it financially, Especially if you plan on keeping the truck a while. Take the carpet out all together and replace it with the rubber mat type or new carpet (might need to do that if there's mildew). Then get a nice leather or wet okles kit and take all the old material off before putting it on. Thoroughly spray the cushions with a water and bleach mixture and let it dry out in the sun, should kill anything left stinking.

Side note, makes me wonder if your truck may have had some type of flood damage.

Def get rid of all mildew, that stuff is bad news for your health.

I know I've been looking for a way to do rubber flooring because I dont live in pavement land. Also a previous owner has cigarette burns in the carpet and I have steamed the carpet and it still retains some stains/ darker colors.. :( But the smell has got to go.. Any shampooing or detailing solutions? I don't want a mask or a temporary fix.

Also the A/C not producing condensation? I don't think its plugged.. I've removed the blower motor and I'm not able to reach to the condenser.. I've blown air through there and no dust comes out or any contaminates at all... Possibly unhooked at the other end? My carpets are not damp or wet lately either...

As far as the flooring goes, I know there has been other members take out their carpet and put in the rubber type, which is called "All Weather Flooring", if I'm not mistaken Toyota started giving that option in 2012, I may be wrong.
I do believe there's been some guys use the new flooring for their older 2nd gen Tacos and it fit fine, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Here's one link to a thread I found that has some pics. Just search "All Weather Flooring" and dig you should be able to find something.

Not quite sure what could be the problem on your AC, maybe some others who've experienced that issue could chime in to help you out.

Finally got my A/C draining a little bit. I also found the bad smell too. Its in the carpet underlay fabric. Old dog puke and moldy stains :$ disinfecting and cutting out the old stuff tonight and tomorrow and replacing hopefully that will be the end of it....
