I got my Taco as an inheritance when my dad died in February this year. He was the original owner and it was the first new vehicle he'd ever had. Mom had a few along the way, but dad just rolled old beaters. I also inherited his '04 Seaswirl Striper fishing boat, first new boat he'd ever had. Both were in Florida and I had them transported here (NIGHTMARE!). I originally planned to drive the truck back so, thanks to this site, I installed cruise control while I was still in Fl. Funny how the dealers still don't know it can be done so simply. Now my goal is to keep this truck as perfect as possible for as long as possible honoring and enjoying one of the many things my dad worked for and passed along to me. I have desires to make a few performance and efficiency mods. Tooter's thread on his manifold spacer finally pushed me over the edge to join and I'm off to his thread right now.

It's great to have you on TW! Looking forward to having you in the community and helping you honor your dad's memory.

Are you pretty knowledgeable on boat upkeep and maintenance? I just had a mid-80s boat with Yamaha engine land in my lap last year and trying to get myself up to speed on boats.

I do everything on boats except hull work (fiberglass repair stuff). Start with an engine manual, factory yamaha preferred, and do ALL the maintenance & tune up stuff. Yamahas are good, but all outboards have their quirks. Find a forum with a section on yamahas and read. If you have a popular enough boat that there's a forum for it go register.
