    Good afternoon,

Just got done changing spark plugs and oil and as I was tightening the nuts for the engine cover, one of the studs snapped (I obviously over tightened the nut). How do those studs come out? Will obviously need a trip to the dealer for a new stud but am curious if I can fix it myself. Any info greatly appreciated.

I attempted to attach photos but that isn't working out too well at the moment. Thanks.

If there is any stud above the hole where it is threaded into the engine you should be able to get a hold of it with a stud remover or vise grips etc and screw it out of the hole.

If it is broken below the top of the hole a drill and screw extractor will be required.
