In semi-truck related news, I just bought a really nice camping/hiking backpack that was over half off on Amazon. Slowly gathering my camping/hiking gear so I can do a little more exploring, etc with the truck and the places around me. I only live about 40 minutes from the AT and about an hour from GWNF, so there's really no reason for me to not take advantage of these places.

Thinking about going with PinkTaco69 and possibly fjfar80 down to Peter's Mill Run on Oct. 12 if anyone in the area is interested. More info in the Northern Virginia Roll Call thread.

    WHITE LED DOME LIGHT

Swapped out my red LED dome light (csjumper) for a white LED dome light (csjumper). One of my map lights is still red, so I still can use that at night, I just wanted better normal lighting when I'm getting into my truck at night.

I also spray-painted color match paint over the Plasti-Derp on the front window switch plates as a test. I actually like how it looks, and it matches the dash gauge rings that I colormatched the other day. I am going to get pictures of the switch plates tomorrow after class, although you can kind of see how it looks in the dome light picture.

    COLORMATCHED WINDOW TRIM

Got some better pictures of the colormatched window switch trim today. I painted it over the Plasti-Derp, so I should be able to peel it off if I don't like it at some point.

    COLORMATCHED HVAC TRIM

Colormatched over the HVAC controls trim that I originally had Plasti-Derped. Turned out pretty good I think.

That back pack looks pretty good. I've got a rush 24 for day trips, havent had a moment to use it fully, but that internal backpack looks like a good buy, how do you like it?

    Thanks Nathan!

I really haven't done much with it besides look through it and put it in my closet. I would say that it's an excellent buy just because it was 1/2 off on Amazon when I got it, so it's a great bag for only $60. Hoping to go up to the AT soon since I only live about 40 minutes away. Probably going to just a day trip or two before I try an overnight. A buddy from the firehouse says I can borrow his tent if I want so I'm pretty set for a day/night/day trip right now.

Go ahead! I definitely didn't come up with the idea... I use both grab handles (door/A-pillar) to get in, so it's nice to have the paracord for grippiness.

How's the build coming on your end? How do you like the Bestop so far?

Snapped some pictures of my truck parked next to a stock 05-08 TRD Sport at the firehouse.

I also did some quick hub-fender measurements and I measured my truck as 3'' higher in the front and 2.5'' higher in the rear, although I think that I am not quite at 3'' of lift in the front. I looked at his UCA's and they were in a negative position (higher at the ball joint) so it looks like his stock coils have sagged a good bit.
