Squeak When Backing UP

I just noticed that when I back up I hear a squeaking sound from the front end, driver side. I only hear it when I am in reverse. I have searched but can't come up with anything. I thought it would have something to do with the drive shaft (u-joints,etc) but the squeaking only in reverse is throwing me. Any help/suggestions are appreciated.

 

I have seen bad universal joints squeak in reverse, but not drive. It COULD be a CV joint, but I would look at the brake pads to see if perhaps the wear indicator is starting to make contact, or something else is.

 

Thanks BamaToy.I thought when a CV joint when bad you could tell by the clicking when making turns. I hope it is a universal, have experirence with changing them.

 

I'm having a similar if not same issue where my 2006 Tacoma is squeaking while backing up. Did you figure out what your issue was?

 

I've experienced a squeek when only backing up in my old 91 Toyota. turns out the u-joints were SHOT. new joints, noise went away

 

That's exactly what I was just told, the rear U Joint is bad.
