I have a 2011 DCSB OF 4x4, I have 19k miles and I am noticing when I brake it seems to nose dive. Maybe I am just noticing this now but it seems to be doing it more then before.
Question; I know I could swap the front struts for the ToyTec spring/5100 combo but I have seen posts about the springs from Toyota "883, or something like that.
Can this be explained to me.
    Thanks

Any mention you see of 88X springs are not Toyota. They are Old Man Emu (OME) springs. 883s are mainly for 1st generation I believe but I've seen folks put them on 2nd gens. 884, 885 and 886 are the more common 2nd gen springs. They will all provide lift though so if you want to maintain stock height, they probably are not what you are looking for.

    X2.

If you go with OME's they will provide 2"-2.5" of lift.

Which ones would give enough to make it level or close to it.

None of the OME springs cause those are for lifting. Best bet to get it just level would be to get 5100's cause thats going to be your best and route. I would stay away from spacers though.

I agree with you about the spacers. I like the combo that ToyTec sells 5100/springs. $600 a bit steep but I bet they would be perfect.

Yep, that's the one. How hard was the install?

I would pay the $100 to toytech and have them sent to you fully assembled. Makes life way easier!

They charge that much just to have the springs mounted to the shock? You can probably find a local shop that will do it for like $40.....thats what we paid a Les Schwabs to do it for.

The price includes new strut mounts, washers, bushings and the assembly if I'm not mistaken.

Well if its the kit hes talking about it comes with all new hardware. Les Schwabs just installed the spring onto the 5100's and we were good to go.

Yeah, it comes with all new hardware so you pop your old strut out and put the new one right in. No running around trying to swap out springs once you get the old ones out. Totally worth it.
