Hello to all taco nuts on forum, this is my first post. I just ordered new shocks for my taco and was wandering if someone can tell me if I will need to use a spring compressor when installing my new billy 5100 with my stock springs on the front end. I will doing the job myself and want to have all the tools ready before I start. Thanks for any info.

Some of this Some of that
You can rent the spring compressor from most auto part stores for free. Just be safe using it!

You can also just un bolt the lca and use a jack just remember to mark the washers so you can get to the shop for a alignment. There is a thread for more info and you won't need a spring compressor.

If I only remove shock and spring will I need to get an alignment?

If you arn't planning on any any lift with the 5100 then probably not. But if you notice any vibrations. I wouldn't hurt to go get it checked.

Hey guys thanks for all the fast responses. I bought this truck brand new 13 years ago this month. It only has 61k miles on her. She is my baby so time for some upgrades. A lot of good ideas hear and all a bunch of great helpful guys here. Been lurking for a while so I figured it was time to register.
    Thanks all!
