Hey guys. Just found out my drivers side leaf is cracked. I guess finally after all these years of hauling around an 800 lb atv in the bed has taken its toll. The truck is an 08 rugged trail. The lowest price I can find is $179 online for one side. Would it really be that bad to just replace the one side? How long would a reputable shop take to install? Thanks.

Replace both. And if you're constantly hauling stuff, I would look into a better leaf pack for load carrying.

    Yeah.
No way would I do one side, you gotta do both. It would sit, ride and handle funny. Look for All Pro, Deaver, or OME Dakars. Shouldn't take too long to install, couple hours maybe.

I just recently was under mine, and noticed a broken leaf. It wasn't leaning to one side, perfectly flat. I got a replacement leaf at the local spring shop, and a center bolt. 45 minutes of elbow grease later, just like new. You don't need to buy the whole spring, just the leaf, IMO.

PS--mine has the 4 leaf pack, and I added an extra one when the truck was new, for a total of 5.

I bought replacement 3 leaf packs for mine a month or two ago from generalspringkc.com and I recall they were $159 each before shipping. If you replace the whole leaf you really need to do both sides. I went with stock replacements because I don't haul much, and I didn't want the truck to sit any higher or ride firmer.
