The ultimate camping/ surfing taco (Help/Suggestions)

    I just bought my Tacoma under a month ago and I really want to make it into the ultimate day/ over night surf trip truck. First by adding a camper shell with thule racks and adding an elevated wood platform 6-8 inches off the bed for sleeping and short board storage underneath. Has anyone here tried this before? Is there anything I should know before I start? What is the best camper shell for mild weather? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
