I'm having the same issues a lot of others are having in regards to picking a Head unit to replace a non-JBL system in a double cab.

I think I have made up my mind that I will go with non amplifier setup and was looking at some mtx separates for speaker replacement with the thought of possibly adding a powered sub woofer later but right now I'm interested in XM radio, HD radio, DVD, pandora, blue tooth and the rms to run the door speakers well. I like the looks of the 8 inch alpine HU but the cost seems pretty high, GPS would be nice but again, the cost seems to go way up when you add that function.

    Can I get some advice?:)

Pioneer avh x3500 bhs. Does everything you just listed and later on when you decide on gps. Buy the add on module. I got mine for 300 for the hu and 275 for the gps module all from sonic electronix. I got the gos module so cheap because It was a returned opened item. Carlos at their main office hooked me up because I was having such bad luck on the microphone for the bluetooth. ( micro phone works great but I have gorilla hands and ripped two in half)

I also just added a sub enclosure and amp and man it sounds great. And I have a set of kicker 6.5s at the house waiting on install. Just have to fab up adapters.

Thanks, as I was looking at that unit I came across the app radio 3. Seems like I can just use my phone for the nav like I'm doing with the stick unit....I'm going to sleep on it.:D
