I am throwing around the idea of getting a new 2012 tacoma, however, I don't feel like shelling out the extra bucks for the entune system given that I have to get the upgrade package which would send me $4000-$5000 more than I am looking to pay. Having said that, do any of you know if I could just buy the tacoma and have the entune system installed after the fact? I did some searching online, but didn't come up with much. I am suppose to visit a few dealers tomorrow so maybe they will be able to tell me yay or nay, but for the time being, just was curious.

    Thoughts?

So, you are saying that it is possible? Or you just mean that for the price you pay for the upgrade package, it is more advantageous/less expensive to go aftermarket?

My guess is that that system components would be more than the $2000 option when buying the truck. there's no telling what the labor would be even if somebody would do it; whether dealer or other) Additionally, most factory "upgrade" systems have way different wiring harness' than that of the standard system.

I'd wait on the entune its a piece of shit. I say this because I have it.

If you want apps get smart phone.

If you want gps get a kenwood with the garmin in it.

All you need is a unit with a usb and then put all of your music on a usb flash.
