So I've seen numbers where dealers are saying the 13 tacoma DCSB 4x4 with the 4.0 is getting 21 hwy. But I could of sworn that the earlier 2nd gens in same setup where at 19.
Do I have the numbers wrong, or has toyota tweaked a few more mpgs out of the V6 over the years?

I get something like 18 average so I would say the numbers are a little tweaked

I have an 07 getting 20 average. It really is just how you drive your truck. You can buy a 2013, drive it like you stole it, and see 15's and 16's or drive it like you are taking it to a nice seafood dinner and see 20+ numbers.

I believe he is asking what your windows sticker stated on the truck. Mine is a 2011 DC V6 Auto and it was rated 16/20. You can also check out this site.

I see my 2011 has the 16/20 and your 2013 has a rating of 16/21. Maybe they turned the truck around and drove with the wind?

I regularly get 22-24 mpg out of mine (depending on if my wife drives it or not) but I'll add the caveat that I drive "mostly" country back roads and it spends less than 10% of it's time above 60 MPH. I don't remember what my window sticker said but it was probably around 20 MPG I would expect. The most that I ever got out of it was a little over 25 MPG with a strong tail wind in Wyoming and the least was 18 MPG with a strong head wind in South Dakota.
