Hey guys, my dad just bought a brand new 2013 trd off road and we are trying to connect an i pod. The car recognizes that its there when you plug it in but when i touch the i pod box a box comes up that says there is a connection problem and to look in the manual. I've been going through the manual all day with no luck. Anybody else have this problem? if so how did you fix it?

Make sure there's no dust or debris in the USB or 30 pin port, also try a new cable.

Your going to need to check the cable and also check another ipod,

After that take your cable and iPod to the dealer to try in another truck,

I just plugged in mine to my 2013 RC with help from TW, worked first try,

Good luck getting yours to work,

Also try a phone with AUX, or any other type of mp3 player on AUX. If another device won't work on AUX then you can probably assign the issue to being on stereo end, either the USB/AUX outlet hookup or the HU itself. You could even try a usb stick with mp3's on it to test the USB as well.

you know I got that message the very first time I tried the cord, so I used the BT connection for a week. Tried the cord a week later and had no problem.
