I have a 2007 tacoma 5 lug and I was curious if a 1.5inch aal will lift the truck that much and any brand suggestions. To me it wouldn't make sense for an aal to work because the leaf springs are under the axle, some response would be greatly appreciated.

An AAL will lift the rear of your truck but how much will depend on the condition of your leaf packs and the arch of the AAL. I'd try to find one made for the 5-lug because our rear springs have more arch to them than the 6-lug leaf packs, so a 6-lug AAL may not give you the full 1.5" lift.

I found this out...the hard way.

ICON 3 leaf AAL (1.5")...got nothing from them on my 5 lug.

Ended up having them re-arched another 2" and it probably wasn't enough honestly.

One day I'll save some $$, get some super arched Alcan SUA leafs and crank my coils up a bit futher.

I am running an AAL that came with my spacer lift kit from Fat Bob's. I think you can buy the AAL separate but I'm not sure. The lift kit had the choice of long or short AAL. I got the long but since I have a topper on my truck it didn't sit level after the lift. I was able to get a shorter AAL from Fat Bob's that when combined with the long one leveled my truck out. Like Quaker, I'm thinking about getting a set of Alcans one day too.

Factory cruise added, wood storage box in bed, wood center console/armrest, charcoal air filter delete.
How about an air ride system so you can adjust for loads? There's also coil helpers. I use them on my Explorer when I'm towing or hauling as it has very soft leaves that sag easily.
