They're not crap. Can you buy better after market units? Probably. Doesn't make the Toyota unit crap though. Its more of a preference thing if you ask me. I know Garmin makes a good nav unit but that is just a nav. Not sure who you would go for for a 'Entune' type unit. I'd be interested in seeing what is out there if anyone knows of a good one.

I'm sure there are plenty more that are cheaper and worse or more expensive and better.

Some of us like the factory set up and if you'd don't like it simply remove it and pout in an aftermarket system!!! No need to bitch to us about your dislike of the entune

Agreed, I have entune and like the factory look. My speakers amp and sub have since been upgraded but you can't tell because I'm still using the factory head unit.

What did you end up going with for aftermarket? I'm pretty happy with the stock JBL system and probably won't upgrade but I'm curious what others would end up getting as an upgrade over the factory JBL.

    Thanks!

I like the jbl sound system but I would like to upgrade it to something a little more powerful down the line but I like the head unit it looks good integrated with the truck

That AppRadio 3 would definitely be the aftermarket unit to get. I may get one for my wife's 2006 Scion xA.

If I were getting an upgrade Entune package I'd get one with the Nav system. Of the four different Entune package options only the third and fourth levels get the Nav. Level/option 1 and 2 dont get Nav. The Premium package is the fourth/highest option. But its like $2200+. I ordered the third level/option that has Nav. I think it was $1700 and change. I don't have the paper work at hand but I think that is the correct pricing.

I'm just sharing for future tacoma owners , not bitching . This is a forum and the intent is to share information . If you like pissing money down the drain then good , I won't stop you .

But I'd like advise others, you can can get a much better quality system installed for less then the cost of the jbl entune . And to add the factory navigation sucks aswell . I always end up using my phone anyways .

I really liked the entune for the first day or so , then the bugs start . Now it seems to give me trouble everytime I start the truck .
