    Hey all.
Not sure if this belongs here or in the Tires & Wheels section...
I recently upgraded to a set of 265/75R16 Duratrac LRC's on my Tacoma.
It's a bone stock SR5, non-TRD, and I'm using the OE steelies. I don't get any rubbing on the mud flaps, fenders, skid plates, cab mounts or frame, even at full lock ON ROAD. However, when I'm offroading and am in an off-camber situation and the front wheels are stuffed a little bit (nothing major, just rutted logging roads or something) I'm getting rubbing on the Upper Control Arms at full lock. I'm sure it doesn't hurt the UCA, and it probably doesn't hurt the tire (I'm never doing more than 10-15mph in terrain rough enough to cause it), but it's a source of annoyance.
My question is, how can I solve it? Would a set of 5100's on the .85" setting take care of it? New coils? TRD coils? Do I need aftermarket control arms? The current setup leaves about an inch between the UCA's and the tires at full lock onroad, but the top of the tire is about level with the UCA.

I've never lifted an IFS truck before. I'd like to fix the rubbing, but I'm not looking to totally redo the whole front end here...

Honestly if you just want them to quit rubbing the UCA's, I would just get some wheel spacers and be done. Lifting might help but if you're not wanting to do that right now or drop that much money, then spacers.

Wheel spacers may help that, or different back spaced wheels. But it's not a big deal, seems to be pretty common...

but I'm concerned that they'll push the wheels out enough that they catch on the fenders or the flaps instead. I'm planning on swapping the flaps for a set of Weathertechs anyway, but I drive enough gravel/dirt roads that I don't want to lose the fender liners...
Would a set of TRD aluminums have a different offset than the factory steelies?
I'm not usually such a cheap bastard, but I just dropped $550 on the tires, and don't have the spare cash to toss at other parts. Maybe I should just suck it up and deal with it..
It only happens at full lock when I'm off-camber, but it does bug me. I'll just have to avoid off-camber full-lock situations by picking my lines better:D

That's really strange I ran 265 for like 25-30k and had no issues. You could just get a 1/2 in spacer and shouldn't have any interference with the flaps or flares.

    Too few to list.
I ran 265/70/17 in a 4.5" backspace 9" wide wheel and had to trim the front part of the plastic liner.

There have been a few members that have had a similar experience with the Duratracs. It's unfortunately due to the sidewall nubs. Usually, a 265/75R16 tire will fit on a stock Tacoma but the sidewall nubs make things rub. I believe either a wheel spacer or aftermarket UCA's will take care of your issue.

For a relatively inexpensive solution, look for 1st Gen 16" wheels. They will stick your tire out a little less than an inch from where it is now. It will solve your problem and save you from running wheel spacers. They can usually be picked up relatively cheap also.

Thanks for the Tip, Pugga! I'll have to check around at some of the local junkyards...
Unfortunately, up here in the rust belt, finding 1st Gen Tacoma parts can be a bit of a challenge at times; so many of them were either repurchased or reframed that not many of them made it to the junkyards. But, I know some folks in the business, so I'll ask them to keep an eye out for me.

I've seen them for as low as $100 bucks for all 4. Just keep an eye out.

If you have an LKQ around you, talk to mach1man001. He found me a set of winter wheels for my wife's car in a day. Also, post up here, I think someone was selling a set in MA not too long ago and I'm not sure they sold:
