I tried my locker this morning and the light just kept flashing and my abs light came on. I tried going forward slowly and steering from side to side like someone on here recommended but nothing changed. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions, kerping in mind that im not what you would call mechanically inclined. Thanks for your time.

ABS light comes on when you are in L4... locker or not.

Locker light goes from flashing to solid when the locker is actually engaged.

Re-try... From a stop... in L4... push RR Dif button... begin to roll forward... if still flashing turn steering wheel all the way ONE direction (not back and forth) and roll forward.

For lockers that haven't been engaged for an extended time you may have to repeat this process many times, or you CAN do it manually by loosening the acuator pulling it out & setting aside, turn on key to run position, push RR diff button go back to rear diff & with a good long handled screw driver (slotted) You can easily slide the 3rd into the lock position & if the shift fork (or pawl) moves properly withit it'll reset itself, its really not hard to do,

But dont do all that until you put in some more time, shit aint etched in stone, go left hand/right hand turns/stop/reverse/right hand/left hand turn/stop/turn right... you are now locked

^^^All this. I recently followed the same removal/fiddling procedure cuz mine got a lil seized up. Also, once you got it working again, get into a habit of using or at least activating it on a dirt road every so often to prevent it from happening again.

I've taken out the e-locker motor on my truck about 5 times now(wiring issue) If it doesn't want to engage after doing all of that, I definitely recommend what 4WD said. You can remove the motor, leave all of the electrical plugged in, then hit the button and see if the gear turns. If it does, then you just have a locker that wasn't used often enough.
Lift the rear tires off of the ground so you can move them around to lock the rear.
Put the button in the locked position, use a flathead screwdriver to slide the gear teeth that you can see through the hole in the rear axle all the way to the passenger side to lock the rear.
If it doesn't slide all of the way over, move around the tires to get it lined up.
Then reinstall the locker motor in the locked position and it should be good to go.
