That isn't accurate. The Tacoma and Hilux designs diverged 18 years ago. Nowadays the Tacoma, 4Runner, Lexus GX and FJ are all based on the Prado frame, while the Hilux is on a unique platform. The Hilux isn't exclusively RHD, either (ones sold in Mexico and Argentina are LHD).

Yes, the designed-for-America FJ Cruiser also has a lean, since the front suspension is the same as the Taco's:
    http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forums/general-discussion/14815-fj-lean-no-not-one.html

The lean doesn't affect any functional aspect of the truck. The suspension alignment and headlight aiming are all done at the factory with the lean in place. Toyota engineers expected the lean to a certain extent. The driver's side coil spring is actually slightly longer to compensate for the lean somewhat. (i.e. the lean would be even more pronounced if you install a pair of aftermarket springs that are equal).

I gotta say I can get pretty OCD about stuff like that, but if you put a few dents in it, or just park next to my wife.... The lean won't seem nearly as bad

Criticism about this truck shall not be tolerated! Pick the OP apart with penis-y comments so that he will not point out any faults

Hi I'm new to the group having just bought a 2011 4x4 LBDC. I found this discussion by doing a search for drivers side lean as I noticed mine leans nearly 1". Thought it might be week leaf springs and my dealer did the TSB replacement after I found out about it here and brought it to their attention but it had no effect. I agree 100% that this is unacceptable and my next appointment is Wed.
