I have a nerve racking issue with my truck. Any insight would greatly be appreciated.

    The Truck is a 2005 Tacoma, 4.0L, 6 spd, 4x4. MOD'S- rear diff lock 2h/4h/4l, Fog lights low/high beam.

The issue I am having with this rig started 6 months ago. I drove the truck for 2 hours shut it off went to start it 5 min. later and nothing. wiggled the steering wheel and fired up. No issues for 3 more months. then it happened once or twice a week for a month. wiggling the wheel didnt work. messed with the key the immobilizer the clutch button below the pedal all of a sudden it starts. Ive had it checked out everything seems normal the starter is getting power. well now that series of motions doesnt work. i sat on a two track for an hour waiting for someone to come by and pull start me the other day and the first guy that stopped was a mechanic. He smacked my ECU with a rock and it fired up. This guy says bad ECU.

So my question is could it be a bad ECU? No codes come up. Or could it be something else?

Sorry for rambling, Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.
    Thank you.
