I'm about to install CB Radio and I was curious about runnng it to a switch. I want to know if turning it off and on would mess with the frequency after its tuned. Also if taking the antenna off when not in use would mess with it either. Thanks for the help guys.

First question; no but the cb already has an on-off switch, so I don't see the need for another switch

second question; no, after it's tuned if you take the antenna off and put it back in the same place, it shouldn't change anything

Thanks, appreciate the help man. The purpose of the switch was so I can shut it off without worrying about it draining my battery.

If you wire it to a "keyed" power source, as in a wire that only gets power when the key is on, like an ignition wire, the CB will turn off whenever you turn the key off, and only turn on when the key is turned to the on position.

I was thinking about that. I just didn't know which wire to splice into and if it would be to much power pulling off one circuit like that.
