I know a lot of people hate blocks, but im putting billies up front and a 2 inch block in the back. Anyone have a similar setup? I do 99% highway driving so i wont be working my suspension too much.

I should have ordered the AAL, but i already have the block delivered.

Any gripes or comments are appreciated.

Well, you'll probably get some axle wrap in the future as the blocks will help to de-arch the rear springs pretty quickly. I'd wait for the AALs or get some shackles instead.

Dunno, my stock wraps enough to feel on hard launches and speed bump hops that I think I would like an under axle setup one day. Try it out, you will be level and can see if you need to invest in something else or not.

Other than some axle wrap/wheel hop, under harder climbs, blocks are not horrible. Best would be springs, but if it's mostly going to be on the road, and just see some light wheeling for camping and the like, blocks would work fine.

Axle wrap pretty much comes from the fact that the block being between the spring and the axle, causes there to be a longer fulcrum point. So, when there is good traction and the torque is applied, that longer space absorbs a lot of the force. This causes the spring to flex like a wave that starts at the front and travels it's length. The result is bouncing of the tire or tires on the effected axle. With extra traction aids like lockers, and running big aggressive tires on stock running gear, it can result in a broken axle shaft, or even a carrier. But, for only slightly larger tires and the like, it usually just hops and nothing else. At worst, some mild traction loss, as it's always best to keep your tires in contact with the ground for best traction.

Blocks are the way it was done for a long while. So, they can work fine. Only you know what type of off roading you subject it to, so you'll have to weigh the costs vs. need. If you just need a little more clearance for ups and downs and dips in the trail, I don't see why blocks would be a bad thing in your case. You can always upgrade the springs out back if you feel the need to push into rougher wheeling, or if the blocks cause too much wrap for your current needs.

I think you will be fine with what you are using your truck for. Note that an AAL will stiffen your ride so it's better for you to stick with blocks or the more ideal setup would be a leaf pack like Dakars.
