maybe i'm just failing in my search but i'm thinking of a 02/03 tacoma but can't find any images with leather. If they are rare and narrow the options on the used market has anyone considered switching in leather seats and a bench from a 4-runner? No idea if that would work fit wise or not but if so you might be able to find a good deal. ??

Jazzpunk67, i definately recomend the 4x4. My opinion is that it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. I can relate to your delima of choosing an auto or a manual, i went through the same debate. my old car was a BMW and it was a manual. After driving a manual for 9 years i decided i was tired of it and just wanted to put it in drive and go. Plus, manuals are fun in small cars but not so much fun in big vehicles, and the new tacomas are definately big vehicles. In addition, autos are better for hauling and off-roading. Personally, i think a 6 spd is overkill anyway. I got the auto and i love it and definately recomend it, but it is definately a personal choice. Either way you'll love your truck.
