a good friend of mine is in some bind for money. He's selling two kicker comp VR and a thousand watt amp he said he will sell them separately. They are 12 inch speakers. I was thinking about purchasing one of them and the amplifier. I went to kickers website they said the mounting depth is 8 and something inches. Can I fit one of these 12 behind my seat? I drive a dbl cab btw

I don't know for sure without measuring, but I have a box from SuperCrewSound.com in my double cab and it's mounting depth is 5-3/8 inches. This box fills the space between the back wall and the back of the rear seat. So I'm thinking the answer is no. But I could be completely wrong. I suppose it could be possible with a custom box. If you go this route, you might try contacting a guy here on TW named Mr Marv. He builds custom boxes and everything I've heard about his work is positive. His contact info is on this page.

Thanks man I hit him up. Guess its a no go. He said it would require serious modification to the rear seat. So I'm guessing that means removing the seat completely. I was thinking about maybe hollowing one of the seats out so a box could fit partially inside it.

You have about 6 inches max to work with behind the rear seats. If you want bass check out the sundown 10 and put it in a ported box.
