I put about 6 coats of black Plasti dip on my grill and it is still a little rough after 2 days. It feels about like 320 grit sandpaper. Did I do something wrong or is it supposed to feel a little rough.

Its gonna be a little rough. Its rubberized after all. It should smooth out a little after time tho, especially after a wash or two. Mine on my lower valence has atleast.

I have never seen it rough like that. It is not smooth like paint either, but rather have a slight texture like "orange peel", not sand paper texture.

Was it hot out when you sprayed it? Above 70F it may have started drying as you were spraying it. It should look like matte spray paint. It's alway gone on smooth for me except once when it was like 75 out and sunny it was going on dry so I had to spray a little closer to keep it wet.

Someone said to keep the can upside down in mineral spirits to keep the chunkiness off the tip. I guess between coats it start to dry up there and starts throwing the little dry grit on your surface.

I bought some today, but have not used it yet. Wondering if I should as humid as it is. But, will probably try some small tasks and see how it goes.

I've used it in similar temperatures and it didn't give me any hassle. It does smooth out a little bit after washes but it will always have that textured feel to it

I guess I'll go ahead and reassemble the grill and put it on today. Thanks for the replies.
