Rear diff

Ok just another open diff prerunner here who wishes he had a 4x4 or at least a locker. Got some questions on what is recommended for some better traction off road. I dot really need a 4wd. With a budget in mind of about 500 bucks what would people suggest. An auto locker or an LSD? I've been lookin at the powertrax no slip an found a lot of great reviews that say it isn't bad an some that say they hate it. Also what bout an LSD. No major wheeling done here. Really just some dirt, little mud. Occasional trips to the hunting farm

 

an lsd is not worth the time to rip open your third member, and an auto locker will require you to change your driving style on the road. You have to live with it 24/7. If thats what you really want for the few times you might leave the pavement then go for it. But in your case, i wouldnt do anything honestly. Except double your budget and get a select-able locker

 

Save up for 4x4

 

Lower the air pressure in your tires... you will be surprised!

 

sell the truck..buy a 4x4

or..convert to 4x4

or..Long travel the shit outa it and mob it over everything

I wouldn't put an auto locker in it.

 

I want a 4x4. But that's even more money. And I can't sell the truck

 

Save your money then. You'll just regret spending cheap money on something you really don't want.

Nothing replaces 4wd.
