DOES AND BODY HAVE ANY GOOD IDEAS FOR A GOOD PLACE TO MOUNT A CB IN A 2ND GENERATION TACO I CANT FIND A GOOD PLACE

i mounted my Cobra 29 WX LTD NW in my rear passenger cup holder. i used a dremel and a fine file to make the cuts and modification for the radio to fit.



i also slightly modified the back of my 3rd brake light assembly so that i can run the antenna cable behind it and into the cab instead of running the cable through the sliding rear window.

 

that is a good idea.... i just dont know if i could bring myself to cut like that because i will be selling my taco in two years or a v-6 trd when i get out of college... but that is a good idea!! thanks!

 

This is an old thread, but I just traded my 05 for a '14 and upgrading and am looking for a location to mount my CB.

In the '05 I mounted the CB on the door side of the driver's seat, running the wiring under the rocker panel (forward to the battery and aft to the antenna). It allowed for easy access and ease of use for operation yet out of the way.

I have upgraded to a cobra which is a little thicker and does not fit in said location so I am seeking another out of the way location.

@MonkeyProof I like your location, but it is challenging to operate while driving down the highway or while off roading? I'm assuming you ran the wires up under the console to the fuse/battery? Did you ground it to the frame or up to the battery? (I typically place it to the frame and get a solid ground).
