Duck commander call

Anybody here use any of the duck commander duck calls? Which one is good for a beginner looking to get into duck hunting possibly? Ive looked online and most say their calls sound the most realistic

 

I've been duck hunting for over 30 years and have several calls, even have one of the first DC original calls. I used it a few times but never cared much for it. I do like the drake mallard call if I'm wanting to call soft. As far as a beginners call, I would probably check out an RNT. A lot of their calls are on the high dollar side but you can pick up a good RNT for $40. Best advice I can give is to only use a call to get their attention and when they see your spread, stop calling. Killing ducks is about being where they want to be, concealment, and decoy placement. New hunters tend to call too much and if you're hunting late in the season, I've seen ducks flare at the first sound of a duck call. DC make a decent call but you can find a lot better call for little more money. Be careful, duck hunting is very addictive and before you know it you'll be buying $150 duck calls, boats, 100's of decoys, and $1500 shotguns. It's a great sport, learn as much as you can, get the birds close, don't sky bust, and most of all, have fun.
