Hello all, I am curious if anyone who has a tire swing out uses a hitch mounted rack? Have a pelfreybilt hc rear on order with a tire swing gate and am wanting to know if a thule 990 XT or Kuat NV would have enough clearance between the bike and the spare. From what I have seen the bikes sit pretty close to the tailgate when mounted. I am also considering having them add a hitch mount in the swing gate to make things easier. Thinking it would be a pain to get in to the tailgate unless I did so...

Or just scratching all of that and going roof rack with front tire removed in trays. New sliders seem to make it easy enough to hoist stuff up there.
    :notsure:
