    Hey guys,
I've got a 2006 double cab trd with 17 inch stock rims that have 5.5" backspace. Recently did the 3" EMU lift with Dakar springs in rear and 885s up front. handles great! Put BFG 275/70/17 KO's on and have rubbing at extremes of turn. Don't want to use spacers. What backspace do I need to go to? 4.5 or 4?

I'm running 285/75/16s with no issues.

Thanks man. Seen your build before. Nice truck.

I just don't want to be a half inch off when I buy the wheels. What a pain that would be!

I just can't go too wide. I like the agressive stance, but my driveway will only allow me to add another 3 inches to my width.

Do you want to run 16s or stick with 17s?

And thanks for the comment man!

I have 285/70/17s with 4.5" BS and still had a lot of rubbing issues. I had to get 1.25" spacers and it still rubs at full crank with 2 passengers in the truck.

Where do you rub? Just on the inner fender?

99% of people running larger tires will have rubbing issues. Trimming is a simple fix. Just find out where you rub and cut that out. You can't see it. Some folks get their cab mounts chopped as well...comes with the territory unfortunately

Because the tires are so tall, I'm getting rubbing issues on UCA on front when cranked, not on back side of tire. Sticking with 17" rims. Already got the tires but want to avoid the spacers. For a few extra dollars I could get new wheels anyway.

So what' I'm getting is that I need to do 2.5" on each side? 4.5 backspace and 1.5 spacer? Holy jesus.

If I put on a 3" billy 5100 lift and want to run 285/70/17's, will a 4.72" backspace (Method Fat Fives) be enough to keep my tires from rubbing?
