I'm looking to pull out my factory unit and upgrade to something I can pipe my ipod into. I was looking at single DIN mounts such as this:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Radio-Stere...fits=Model:Tacoma&hash=item4cf890e1d7&vxp=mtr

However, I wanted to ask this group if there is a brand of mount you guys recommend other than the generic Chinese ebay aftermarket? I will probably put a regular single DIN unit in the top and use the vacant space to mount a ham radio control. Any advice? thanks,

Nearly all dash kits are either made by Scosche or Metra. Either brand is fine. It looks like that one might be Scosche, or a Scosche knock-off. Metra makes this one that has the same texture as the stock stereo (the little bumps) whereas it looks like that eBay one doesn't have that texture. Also, if you buy your new stereo from Crutchfield and it costs $119 or more, the Metra one is included for free along with a free wiring harness. If you spend less than $119, they're only $15 each.

Awesome dude, thanks for the input. I did run across the Scosche in my search, but that crutchfield deal sounds great. I was probably planning on getting my unit there anyhow, but I was unaware of the included mount. :headbang:
