    Hey I know my prerunner has a 4.10 open rear end. I'm just trying to figure out what size my diff is. Ex. 7.5,8,8.4? I have read all kinds of posts but I am reading a bunch of posts that say the 8 is actually an 8.4 or vice versa and I'm confused. Little help? Thanks

    What side of the diff is the drain plug on? The 8.4" will have it on the passenger side and the 8" will have it on the driver side.

    easiest way is since its an open diff, its the 8.4''

    the 8'' is for the Elocker rear diff only.

    And even though its known as an "8.4", the ring gear is actually 8 inches in diameter.

    Ok thanks guys. The only reason I asked is because I'm looking at getting a truetrac and was just making sure I got the right one. So I need the one for the 8.4 right?
